Uncaria tomentosa, popularly called cat’s claw, is a climbing plant of the Rubiaceas family, originally from the Amazons. It grows in virgin lands of the Amazon rainforest, and also in lands well rested. The plant has been used by indigenous inhabitants for centuries to treat various ailments, and today it is used for many infections.

It is a vine that is found in the rainforests of South and Central America, which is derived from the cat’s claw or the Indian name Vilcacora. Its name comes from its claw-like spines.
