Chacruna (Psychotria viridis) is a common companion of Banisteriopsis Caapi in the production of ayahuasca in much of the Amazon. Although Diplopterys cabrerana (Chagropanga, Chaliponga) is more familiar and the mixed plant most commonly associated with the Caapi vine. But the combination of these three plants makes it stronger and is preferred by many ayahuascaros throughout the Amazon of Peru.
